THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING
★ “Easily the best film in the Hunger Games franchise.” — Nikita Francois, The Nerds of Color ★ “The Rogue One/Andor of the franchise.” — Griffin Schiller, Discussing Film ★ “He had my jaw on the floor time and time again.” — Perri Nemiroff, Collider, on Joseph Zada ★ “The rebellion is sparking.” — Next Best Picture
Twenty-four years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, another District 12 kid was dragged onto the reaping stage. It’s the 50th Hunger Games, the Second Quarter Quell, and the Capitol has doubled the number of tributes. Sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) just wants to get home to the girl he loves, Lenore Dove (Whitney Peak). When his name is called, he’s thrown into the deadliest Games Panem has ever staged alongside fellow tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace). Haymitch realizes the whole thing is rigged to break him, so he decides to break it first. Francis Lawrence, director of Catching Fire and Mockingjay, returns to Panem with a screenplay by Billy Ray, who wrote the original Hunger Games. The cast also includes Ralph Fiennes, Elle Fanning, Jesse Plemons, Kieran Culkin, Maya Hawke, Ben Wang and Lili Taylor. This is the story of the victor nobody remembers and the price he paid for the spark that started a revolution.PT2H38MPG-132026-11-18The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping"The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping"
